Japanese Whaling Protest

Photograph by Animal Liberation

A protest in Australia against Japan's illegal whaling industry showing a woman covered in fake blood on Japan's flag. The nation harvests whales in the name of science but what the carcases actually are used for is questioned as whale meat is often seen in Japanese markets. Japan plans on killing over a thousand whales near the Antarctic, which originally included 50 humpback whales. They have been convinced by international groups against it though because humpbacks are a protected species. Australia is going to watch Japanese whalers for evidence of illegal whaling practices.
